A major network bottleneck was impacting a client with two geographically dispersed offices in Hyderabad. The first office housed 1000 employees and a high-end Cyberoam firewall equipped with two internet links (ILLs). The second office, with 2000 employees, relied on a Cisco firewall with a similar ILL configuration. Connecting these offices were two point-to-point (P2P) links, also terminated on the firewalls.
Network congestion, particularly for users in the larger office, prevented access to servers in the first office. Despite multiple attempts by other vendors, the issue persisted.
We identified the root cause of the problem which is the P2P links being terminated on the firewalls
We implemented a solution by rerouting these links to the core switches - an Enterasys switch in one office and a Cisco switch in the other. This required in-depth understanding and programming of both switch platforms.
